The complex includes the State Opera, the Law Faculty of Humboldt University, Humboldt University, the State Library, and St. Hedwig's Cathedral - the first Catholic Church in Berlin. Continue to Bebelplatz, where a memorial stands in honor of the 25,000 books burned in 1933. Our tour will start with a visit to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. The sombre site opened in 2005 to pay tribute to the over 6 million Jews who lost their lives during the National Socialism era. Afterwards, we will head to the renowned Brandenburg Gate, one of Berlin's most iconic landmarks. We will then leave the former Eastern part of the city and visit the Memorial to the Murdered Sinti and Roma, the Government District (which houses Reichstag/Bundestag and Chancellery), and then ride through the breathtaking Tiergarten Park and the Spree River. Our next stop will be the impressive Bellevue Palace, which is the official residence of the Federal President. Finally, we will reach our destination, the striking Victory Column, located at the centre of the Tiergarten.
